Slunečný a písečný příběh ze Saudi – Beata Rynkowska-Wdowiak
Beata je polská zdravotní sestra, která již 5 let žije a pracuje v Saúdské Arábii. Tady je její příběh:
Sunny and sandy story from Saudi
I am a polish nurse which spent in KSA more than five years already. Is a short or long time, I haven’t decided yet.
When seven years ago I started my preparation and decided I want to come to Saudi I didn’t expected how difficult it can be. All documents, translations, confirmations of every single piece of paper drove me crazy, I questioned my self is it really worth all this effort… Now I know it is.
I can say to everyone who would like to try – please do not give up, no matter how tough start is. We all have a dreams, we all want them makes comes true… Kingdom of Saudi Arabia can help YOU to do it.
What to do on the beginning? Forget, just forget all stupid, scary, and crazy things which you ever heard about this country. Focus on this what agency want you to prepare, keep learning and improving your English skills and on the end jump into the plane, come here and enjoy.
When I came here, I had in my head many strange information, my family used to joke „you will see, they will kidnap you and sell for camels“… that stupid thought stayed with me for few weeks here in Saudi. One day it just gone, I have discovered how amazing people are around me.
During the grocery shopping, on my way out of the mall I noticed a Saudi man running after me and waving, of course camel story pops up in my mind, questions like why I choose a week day, in the middle of the day for shopping, when no one is around to help…so… I started to walk faster, till I hit the door which didn’t open. I am done, that is it, he will kidnap me now and sell for camels… When a Saudi guy reached me, he was smiling with my wallet in his hand. He didn’t speak English, he just saw I left my wallet and he run to give it back to me, I felt just stupid, all my money and documents were inside, I didn’t even know how to say „Thank You“.
There is one thing which you have to start believing in. Winter in Saudi can be really cold. When you hear „Saudi Arabia“ you see desert, camels and sun, dates and marvellous Arabic coffee but remember about warm sweater and jacket for few winter months.
What happened next? I started to discover and enjoy this beautiful country.
I always loved my job in operating room, this feeling didn’t change but I learnt much more than I ever expected, I improved my skills, I attended many conferences and symposiums and I have finished bachelor degree during my work here. What else you want?
Work is just a part of this story, seems like small part.
I found here amazing friends who are not scared to go with me for a walk in the middle of nowhere, in the middle of sand storm, every Friday when we are off of duty, that is something what we call Hash, Hash House Harriers groups you can find even here. I found here friends who are not scared to try with me something new. Like what? Like martial art, Brazilian Ju Jitsu for example.
All to say impossible not exist.
